Welcome to my homepage! I am currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics and also the Economics Honours Course Lead in the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance at Curtin University, Australia. I am also a Non-resident Fellow at the Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability (CDES), Monash University, Australia and an External Fellow at the Centre for Global Finance, (CGF), SOAS University of London. I was an Adjunct Faculty at Soochow University, Taiwan. Prior to joining Curtin University, I was an Adjunct Lecturer in Economics in the School of Arts at Australian Catholic University.

I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics from Monash University, Australia. My primary research fields are international economics and monetary economics; secondary research fields are environmental economics, energy economics and tourism economics. Methodologically, my work combines careful attention to macroeconomic theory and identification of causality. My research contains both theoretical and empirical work. I develop theoretical model to explain counterfactual macroeconomic phenomenon. For my empirical work, I utilise firm-level or cross-country data to provide causal estimates. Thematically, I study questions motivated by the major macroeconomic developments of the past decade, including impacts of exchange rate flexibility, dollarisation, current account evolution, monetary policy spillovers, effects of negative interest rate policy, and central bank digital currency.

My research has been published widely in leading academic journals, such as Energy Economics, Empirical Economics, Journal of Travel Research, Economic Modelling, Finance Research Letters, and Tourism Economics. My paper is one of the 72 most cited articles at Economic Modelling during 2018-2022 and is selected in the special issue for celebrating Economic Modelling as a top 20 journal in economics in 2023. I am currently serving as the Guest Editor for a special issue of Journal of Risk and Financial Management on the theme of "Monetary Policy in a Globalized World".
